Parish Council Meeting
Not enough Parish councillors were able to attend the meeting on Monday May 20 to make up the necessary quorum for a meeting to take place. However, as there were a few members of the public present, an informal discussion of various topics took place. The owner of Regency Cottage, Watts Green, wanted to inform the council that due to underpinning work to Regency Cottage the road will have to be blocked by a lorry delivering and injecting concrete for a short time on several days. Work will take place during the week after the Bank Holiday. The question as to why the dog bins have not yet been installed was asked. This was because the original application and location map of dog bins had been lost by the Contracts Department for AVDC and the application had had to be resubmitted. The Council’s late submission of accounts for audit was discussed. Nic Brown regretted this had happened and would ensure it would not happen again. There is now a vacancy for a parish councillor as Leif Hytten had resigned due to pressure of work. A notice advertising this vacancy and asking for interested villagers to come forward to join the Parish Council will be displayed soon on the noticeboard. We were informed that theft of garden equipment from a locked garden shed in Chearsley and an attempted break in to the house on a second occasion have occurred recently as in many other villages and for all villagers to be aware of this and to keep vigilant. The meeting has now been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday May 28 at 8pm at the Cricket Club
